"Appalled"

About: Queen's Hospital / Accident & emergency

I came to a&e with severe back pain, I had back ache for quite a while but it had gotten much worse the day of my visit, I couldn’t walk or breath comfortably. The reception staff sent me to children’s a&e (like physically took me there in my wheelchair) where I waited an hour and a half, I went to get some painkillers and discovered I was not even on the list !! I should have been in majors lite. I go to majors lite where I discovered the nurse had been calling me in and almost took me off the system. She done her checks (blood pressure, pulse etc...) and sent me back to the waiting room where I waited another 2.5 hours only to have an ecg and sent to the GP !!. Bear in mind none of these doctors have even looked at my back. I waited an hour and a half in the gps waiting room to find that the doctor wouldn’t even see me because I couldn’t walk. He sent me back to a&e. By this time it was 3am. The a&e doctor called me 45 mins later to tell me there was nothing they could do and gave me some stronger painkillers and sent me on my way with some crutches. I’m appalled with the service.
