"Darlington CAMHS"

About: Tees, Esk And Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust

My son, my husband and I have had a terrible experience with Darlington CAMHS.

They did not take our concerns seriously, despite us sending numerous emails expressing concerns. Things went very wrong, very quickly and our son had to be admitted to hospital.

Instead of focusing on treating our son, they then instigated a social services investigation which completely exonerated us. After more than a year of subject access requests and letters we are not much further forward in discovering why.

I would advise all parents that Darlington CAMHS will not take their concerns seriously unless you bombard them with telephone messages and emails. Also that they are collecting evidence about you behind your back, will not discuss safeguarding concerns with you (which their policy requires), and then try to blame things that go wrong on parents rather than incompetent staff. From what we have managed to get hold of we can see their notes are riddled with errors. However, getting to the bottom of what has happened is impossible as they won't provide information even after it has been requested multiple times.
