Firstly I would like to say that this hospital saved my daughter's life when she was 19 days old.
They were like shining knights on white horses attending her local hospital and taking her to GOSH.For emergency surgery where she spent the first 3 months if her life! Returning again aged 1 to have open heart surgery.
Numerous stints in hospital have shown me that this hospital is outstanding for inpatients. Accommodation, round the clock nursing support, family support second to none.
However, as a outpatient of a now 15 year old I can unequivocally say that the service is poor from
Arrival at the information desk to the cancelling of appointments without a care for the emotional impact on the outpatient and their family!
The out patient processes really need to be looked at.
15 years of attending GOSH and I have gone from singing their praises to fuming over yet another insensitive cancellation of an appointment that I wasn't asked to confirm with a waiting time of another 6 months to a year.
Truly unacceptable patient care for outpatients.
They need to give us the same care as they do their inpatients.
"Wonderfull for inpatients ;but poor service for..."
