"A weekend appointment, helpful and..."

About: Kingston Hospital

My son had an appointment with the children's urology consultant. The appointment was on a Saturday afternoon - really, really helpful for me as a working parent, and brilliant for him not having to take time off school. For children who have regular visits to hospital this is so important. Ophthalmology take note! The clinic itself was spotless and bright and there were only two other families waiting. We were helped by the nurse who offered to check the waiting time for me - this was useful as I was thinking of nipping out to get a cup of tea but it became clear there wasn't enough time. The nurse was friendly and efficient and had a great rapport with the kids. The consultant was very professional and kind - delivering some potentially bad news in a pragmatic but sensitive way. He took time to ask a lot of questions and went through the notes in some detail. Again - he had a good rapport with my son. All in all a positive experience. Please Kingston Hospital - more Saturday appointments for kids!
