I have COPD and about 3 months ago my symptoms got worse to the point that I could barely walk without being breathless. Having been in contact with asbestos about 38 years ago I saw the doctor and had an x-ray which was clear. The doctor felt the problem may be my heart and sent me to the chest clinic at the Derby royal. I was given an appointment within days and was diagnosed with Atrial fibrilation. I was given medication and attended further tests at the hospital. After about 6 weeks I saw the cardiac department again and since the medication was not improving me I was offered a cardioservice the following week. It worked. I am now 100% better and cannot thank the staff of the cardiac department enough. I am still on medication until I revisit in August.
I cannot praise the NHS enough.
"Heart treatment has made me 100% better"
