"Could not recommend less."

About: Malling Health - Dipple Medical Centre

I am 36+3 weeks pregnant, I am supposed to have an antenatal check every 2 weeks now according to my care plan. I have not had an appointment for 3 weeks and had my appointment for this week abruptly cancelled last minute.

My partner is a triple amputee (missing his two legs and one arm) and relies on medication so that he can physically function in everyday life through the pain that he experiences. The doctors are making every effort to withhold medication from him, making him come in twice for reviews (baring in mind he needs this medication to function and won’t be regrowing his limbs any time soon so his physical condition will never improve), and arguing with him regarding dosages he has been on for years. They have refused to put his medication on as a repeat prescription, I am due fairly soon and the stress of him not having his medication is increasing as it will make it extremely difficult for him to get around at all. The doctor is extremely rude, ignores us both when we speak our concerns and does not take into consideration at all that my partner is not your average patient. This doctors is honestly the worst I have ever experienced.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback for us.

I am sorry to hear that you are less than satisfied with the practice.

Firstly, with regards to your midwife appointments, this is a community service and is not attached to the surgery, but we would be happy to help and give you the contact details you need.

Please contact the reception team and they will be able to assist you.

However, if you feel that you would like to see a GP in the event of not seeing a midwife, please contact the surgery and we will be able to book an appointment for you.

With regard to your comments re your partner's medication, unfortunately, due to patient confidentiality, I am unable to discuss this matter with you.

However, as a surgery we are required to operate in a safe and effective way, in the best interests of our patients and within clinical guidelines.

It is important that patients' medication is monitored and reviewed, and it is not always possible or sometimes recommended for some medications to be put on repeats.

We would be happy to review your partner.

Please ask him to get in touch with the Practice to book an appointment.

If you would like to discuss this further then please do not hesitate to contact the surgery and book an appointment to see me.

Many Thanks

Kate Senior - Practice Manager
