In 1991 my wife had breast cancer which was discovered by our GP and confirmed by a consultant. This was achieved in a matter days at the DRI Derby. Her operation was done within a couple of weeks and was shortly followed by a hysterectomy to enable the medication, tomoxiphen, to work properly. She has repeated mammograms to make sure it has not returned. Shortly after this she required her gall bladder to be removed. Once again in double quick time. The operation was done at the City hospital, now the Derby royal.
She has also become blind and has received first class treatment until it became dry macular degeneration and is currently untreatable.
We have nothing but admiration for the NHS .
The cancer has not returned. A truly success story
