I gave birth to my 3rd baby here. Firstly visited the triage and was monitored and the lady monitoring me was.so lovely and made me feel really comfortable. I went in presuming my waters had gone and I was correct. I was getting contractions and I told the midwife my other babies came very quickly so I was adamant my baby was going to come soon. She checked me over and I was 2-3cm she said usually at this stage they send you home and you return in 24hrs but as I mentioned my last babies came quickly she said its probably best to stay. I just want to say it was nice to be listened to and I am so thankful for that because 2 hours later I actually had my baby and the fact she listened to me made things so much calmer for me knowing I was going to be staying till my baby came. Also the ladies on the labour ward are great to they made my experience very reassuring. I just want to say though on the maternity ward although they are all great staff and amazing at what they do I did have to remind them a few times 3 to be exact as to when can I have my canula out of my hand and each one said they would just ask my midwife but I didn't actually get a response till the next day and I understand they get busy and may forget but it just annoyed me as it's not exactly the most comfortable thing to have in your hand when you need to wash and try to sleep with it.
"great wards"
