I gave birth at the QEUH this week with my second child and can’t thank the amazing midwifery and medical teams enough. I was induced due to my waters breaking more than a day earlier but I didn’t got into labour naturally.
To avoid infection risk I chose to be induced and while it had not been my initial birth preferences the care and attention I received were second to none. My labour was fast and I delivered in just over four hours after the induction began. I had a midwife shift change during my labour and both midwives were amazing. I was listened to at every step and my husband and I were fully supported.
I had a complication post delivery when my placenta wouldn’t detach fully on its own and I needed fairly rapid attention. My midwife acted quickly and she and the medical team were able to address the situation and sort me without requiring theatre. After a two night stay in hospital we’re now home and settling in to our new routine. I can’t thank the team enough for their help and support and am forever grateful to them.
"Really positive labour experience at QEUH"
