"Kindness and Professionalism combined"

It is a frightening experience to go for a Memory/Dementia test, as I had to do recently. However, at the clinic I received only gentleness, support and reassurance from everyone I met. Reception were welcoming, and gave me clear instructions about waiting - and I didn't wait long. The Doctor who administered the tests asked my permission for a senior colleague to join us. He spoke clearly and looked straight at me (encouragingly) all through the tests. Whilst he added up my score, his senior colleague asked me if I would mind her asking some questions. She skillfully managed to get me to open up about problems I would not normally discuss. I felt as if they both really cared about how I was, and that I should receive appropriate support. They are wonderful examples of the kind of professionals one hopes to meet when feeling vulnerable.
