"Service other than clinics declined..."

About: De Parys Medical Centre

This used to be one of the best surgeries you could have asked for and the attention I get from the clinic nurses for my diabetes and COPD is still excellent. However if you have a new concern trying to see any doctor never mind the doctor they have allocated to you is near impossible - even when than doctor has specifically asked to see you to review a change in medicines - or to get a referral letter requested by another branch of the NHS where you are already under treatment & they have requested you get a letter to extend the treatment to another area not specifically mentioned in the original referral. The time wasted is unbelievable - trying to get an appointment (impossible) - waiting endlessly for a doctor to call you with no time range given - don't these people realise we also have things to do - made even more difficult by not being able to get treatment for ailments.

As I said when I started this missive I once thought this was a first class surgery but seems now to have been overtaken by bureaucracy and rather curt unhelpful staff - shame!

Thank you for your feedback.

Sadly it is getting more and more difficult to offer the continuity of seeing the same doctor, although this may improve since implementing the appointment changes referred to in previous comments.

All our doctors work a maximum of 4 days per week, and some work less, and on a daily basis several doctors are taken out of routine pre-bookable clinics in order to provide same-day duty doctor cover for medically urgent problems.

I have mentioned in previous comments that we have prescribing nurse appointments most days and it is usually easier to get an appointment with them; please ask the Receptionist.

I would like to reassure you that all clinicians have access to your medical records, and we will try to offer you a same-clinician appointment if we have one available.

However, regrettably, we cannot guaranteed this.

Practice Manager
