"Wonderful staff"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Wishaw / Care of the Elderly (Wards 9-12)

(as a relative),

My 94yr old mother was taken to A & E at Wishaw General recently. We had a long wait for the ambulance after she'd had a fall at home and she was in a fair bit of pain.

The staff were wonderful, but special mention must be made to Gwen, the doctor who dealt with us. She was superb, dealing with us in a compassionate manner, while using a bit of humour to lift my spirits. The staff are so overworked and underpaid and our experience has restored my faith in humanity.

Dear Wishaw resident,

Many thanks for taking the time to express your lovely comments that your mother received during her visit to the ED.

The staff will be delighted to read this positive post and I will ensure Gwen and the rest of the team are made aware of this.

I hope that your mother is feeling better and recovering well.

Best wishes

Andy

Dear Wishaw Resident,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your mother and your experience on CareOpinion. I am sorry to read that you had a long wait for the ambulance.

I would like to have this looked into for you. It has been a very challenging year for all NHS health boards and our staff have been working very hard to provide the service that is expected of them. If you could email scotamb.feedback@nhs.net and provide specifics of when your mother had an ambulance called. We will need the date and time and address of where the ambulance attended and also your mothers details. If there is any learning we can take, this process will allow us to do so.

I hope that your mother is on the road to recovery and I wish you both the very best.

Kind Regards

Alan
