I turned 54 this year and looked in the mirror asking myself do I want to see and enjoy retirement. The answer was obvious.
I decided I needed to re-focus, to do something to change my priorities in life, so I had a discussion with my doctor. I had heard of the Active Lifestyles programme through local advertising and circulars and asked him to refer me.
I found it was pitched just right for me, it was motivational and we all know how hard it can be to change routines and habits. This is where the support from the programme advisor helps greatly, after a short period of persistence, new routines and habits replace old ones, and all you have to do is maintain, the regular support and encouragement helps you persevere.
The whole experience has been life-changing for me, in many ways. I have lost nearly two stone and physically I feel fitter and more capable, not breathless and tired like before. Psychologically the programme has improved my self confidence and self esteem. The new me has even commented upon by people, especially those close to me.
"Fitter, more capable, and 2 stones lighter thanks to Active Lifestyles!"
