I have received excellent support and care regarding my mental health issues within the maternity setting at Oldham royal hospital in Greater Manchester.
My consultant organised a treatment pathway that looked after my physical needs regarding my twins and my emotional needs regarding my PTSD. I was allocated a mental health midwife and a patient experienced midwife who helped me through every step of the way.
Sam, my patient experience midwife, was there for me leading up to the birth, throughout the birth and afterwards. She was amazing. I could really relate to her, she was down to earth, honest, caring and kind. She really understood me. She took a genuine interest in me and my boys and in my opinion went over and above.
