"One disappointed patient"

About: Cumberland Infirmary / Ophthalmology

Recent visit in May this year.

Poor communication.

Poor manners

Lack of interaction

Little respect shown

No effort putting me at ease and no feedback following examination.

Staff taking personal calls on mobile.

Ignoring me as patient for good 5 minutes.

Been attending that department for over 40 years and was the worst experience I have had.

Letter of feedback sent in acordance with procedure.

Firstly can I thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us, I am really sorry that this was less than satisfactory and reassure you that this is not the level of care and service that we expect patients using our services to receive. I will pass on your comments to the Matron for the area and ask her to address this with the staff concerned.

As you have sent in a letter you should receivbe a response to that in the very near future, if you have any further queries of require any further advice or assistance please do not hesitate to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS), the PALS team can be contacted on 01228 814008 between 10.00 and 3.00pm Monday to Friday or email PALSCIC@ncuh.nhs.uk.
