"How you have kept me waiting...and waiting!!!!!..."

About: Moorfields Eye Hospital (City Road Campus) / Ophthalmology

June 1st 2017 , yes over 1 year ago, I was referred to you in your Stratford E.London clinic and how happy was I. Then events went downhill fast - my notes were lost and I had to repeat all my tests once more, this time in City Road in October'17.(4 months and no further forward). I did have dialogues with your PALS team who were trying to make me find out where my notes were but I pointed out that was not really my role. Eventually much to my chagrin I accepted my train journey fare from NHS (!) funds to recompense for my added

expenses towards a 'repeat' consultation at City Road. My operation was carried out on 13th. June 2018 - OVER ONE YEAR ON FROM MY INITIAL CONSULTATION.

No complaints whatsoever re.care which was excellent with absolutely fabulous staff.

Follow up appointment 13 days later in Area 4. Had phoned in advance to request a later time as i travelled from Kent - absolutely no problem. When I checked in, I enquired if there was a long wait and was told there were only 3 ahead of me. Great, except it was not!! After over an hour's wait I enquired if I had been forgotten. My file was on the receptionist's desk and apologies were given. I was now too late to be seen as everybody was going to lunch. I was then slotted in to an afternoon clinic .4 HOURS TO HAVE MY STITCHES REMOVED. The admin. staff need to be on the ball as I have unfortunately been at the receiving end of 2 very poor and indeed disgraceful experiences. There really is absolutely no reason for such incompetence. This unfortunately is reflecting badly on such a wonderful hospital. PLEASE SORT OUT ADMIN PROCEDURES SO THAT EXPERIENCES FOR ALL PATIENTS ARE STRESS FREE.
