"My visit to A and E yesterday"

I have had such terrible pains at night in my leg. A chiropractic told me it was a stress fracture. It was a Saturday when I went to the hospital. The renovated area looks good but the service lacks compassion, caring and friendliness it used to have.Nice staff receptionists. Nice nurse but he lost my form with my medical details on it. My specialist in trauma clinic had told me to go to A and E if pains got very bad. Saw GP in triage who searched my bag for the form after I told her it was still with the male nurse.and she told me the NHS was limited and to go back to my GP. Told me off for being there in fact! She went on and about this, making me feel very bad but finally sent me for xray after I mentioned my consultant at the hospital.

There was only one man in waiting room to see GP and then I sat alone for 1 and a half hours to see her for the result. I was so fed up with waiting that I went to seek the café there. Sadly I was told she had come to look for me in the time I was away.

I was told I would have to wait at least another hour for the result. After a few minutes I came back. The GP there was now with somebody. When they left another wait. By then I was feeling so annoyed by the patronising and punitive response of the GP there I asked the reception to ask her to fax the x ray result to my own doctor. I now doubt whether this will happen and I had a good opinion of Kingston Hospital but I shall think twice before going back to the A and E unit!
