"Outstanding care - and clean the windows"

About: Dorset County Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

The treatment and care provided by the ENT surgeon, anaesthetist, theatre team and admission unit was first class - as good as you can get.

My two quibbles were firstly, the extremely long time waiting for the operation (not far off a year) although absolutely no harm was done. It is appreciated it is partially determined by central government policy. Secondly the inside of the hospital is spotless and fresh-looking - however walking past the windows from the bus stop on Bridport road revealed filthy windows and window frames and the canopy over the entrance parking zone needs a jolly good clean and coat of paint. First impressions have an impact.

Hello Alistair,

It is fantastic to hear about the care you received from the ENT surgeon, anaesthetist, theatre and admission unit teams – this is the high standard of care that we hope to achieve for all our patients, and it is great to see we are getting it right.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback to let us know how we are doing and I will ensure the teams involved in your care are made aware of your feedback.

In regard to your comments about the windows I will pass this on to our Facilities department to make sure the windows etc are cleaned as soon as possible.

Best wishes

Alison Male

Dear Alistair

I have received the following response from the Facilities Manager regarding the window cleaning:

The next schedule for the window cleaning will commence on 12 July 2018. We have them cleaned twice per year normally around March/April and September/October, some windows cannot be reached safety due to the design of the building and so cannot be cleaned.

Best Wishes

Ali
