There are a few members of staff trying their best here but they are really fighting a losing battle. I spent my entire admission begging to be discharged because the ward was making me feel so much worse.
There are hardly any OT groups or activities, which are so vital to just surviving a stay on a psychiatric ward, let alone trying to recover. The hospital itself has plenty of facilities but they are barely used. If you question this, or anything else about the running of the place, you are likely to find yourself in an argument with staff, who often seem defensive. On numerous occasions I was scolded for being distressed or blamed for "not trying hard enough".
My entire stay was a deeply traumatising experience, and I am not new to psychiatric admissions so I have had many bad experiences at many hospitals.
"A cruel place, I am traumatised."
