"Minus Zero stars"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

I saw a skin specialist in January 2018 at the Yorkshire Clinic as an NHS patient about a sore patch on my forehead.

When he looked at it he asked me if I could come back next week & he would do a biopsy.

After the Biopsy I went the next week & was told I had skin Cancer.

He referred me to a Plastic Surgeon in the same building.

I saw the Consultant a couple of weeks later who told me that I would have to have it cut out & a skin graft done, & I would hear about an appointment in 6 weeks.

I asked if it could be done at the Yorkshire Clinic but he said no because it was too big, I would have to go to BRI.

6 weeks came & went.

At 12 weeks I went to my GP and he told me to contact the Secretary which I did only to be told I had got lost in the “System”.

I was sent an appointment thinking I would have this Cancer cut out that day only to be told it wasn’t done in Outpatients.

Why the hell was I given another Outpatients appointment when I had already seen him?

I was then sent another appointment to be admitted to BRI on Ward 5.

2 days later this was cancelled due because “of other hospital reason”.

After I had phoned up about this I was told it was the “System” that had sent out the cancellations and that Management were aware of it.

I then got another appointment for the same date but a different Ward 19A.

I attended at the requested time of 11 a.m. only to be told I was on the wrong Ward.

I then went to the correct Ward where I waited 4 hours; it was then I realised I would not be going into surgery for some time BUT I was next to go down - and as I had only paid for 4 hours Parking I then decided to leave.

The motto of this story is, if you have any kind of serious illness DO NOT ELECT TO GO TO BRADFORD ROYAL INFIRMARY because you will be messed about with appointments and kept hanging around for hours on end when you could be living your life.

One individual said why don’t you contact PALS.

I did years ago about something else and drew the conclusion they were just covering up.

You have been warned people.

Diagnosed with skin Cancer in January 2018 ---- 5 months later still waiting for treatment.

I will go to another hospital where they treat you like people, with respect.
