What I liked
All staff on delivery suite were wonderful. Couldn't have been better. So friendly, pleasant, and caring. Cannot praise them highly enough.
What could be improved
Communication. I went in at 7.30am on Tuesday morning to be induced and I wasn't induced until Wednesday evening. During those two days of waiting I did feel like I was just dumped on the ward and forgotten about. No one came to check if I was OK, or to let me know what was going on.
At one point on Wednesday afternoon I was even taken down to the delivery suite, only to be returned to the ward 5 minutes later. I understand that women in labour obviously have to take precedence, but after 2 days of hanging around that was nearly the final straw. Especially as it almost happened again to us in the evening.
Anything else?
Queens Hospital needs more delivery suites! They seem to have plenty of beds on the wards, but for the two days I was there, the delivery suites were totally full, all the time, to the point where ladies were in labour on the pre natal ward.
"Wonderful caring staff who always had time for us."
