"I am proud of our NHS service"

What I liked

My wife was admitted with what I thought was a minor tummy problem, this turned very quickly into a life threating situation. Her life was saved by the A&E team and then again by the surgeons who performed a life saving operation on her. Even though she only had a very small % of possible survival none of the teams gave up on her.

In ITU and HDU she was treated with respect and cared for 24/7 for over 5 weeks I cannot praise them highly enough.

When moved to Syon 1 she again received the same level of care and was kept clean, feed and supported by all of the team.

As she started to recover the support she got from everyone was tremendous.

All the way through her treatment she has been looked after to the highest standards, as she started to walk again even the cleaners and catering staff cheered her on.

She now faces about 6-12 months of rehabilition but we know with the continued support of the teams at West Middlesex she will prevail.

To all at the West Middlesex we say a big thank you.

Anything else?

With the media and others taking cheap shots at the NHS is it not about time that all of the good work that is done is highlighted.

Yes there are some places in the country were there are some issues, but this constant negative feedback does little for the moral of the NHS staff in general.

With government making massive cutbacks within the NHS we all have to expect some delays in either treatment or getting our results but consider that the delay could be caused by the fact that a life is being saved.
