My child went to the doctors for a repeat prescription for eczema creams but when she went back to collect it she was told by the receptionist that she did not have eczema just dry skin. My child has had eczema since she was a baby and has had prescriptions for it ever since. Since when were receptionists able to diagnose medical conditions so publicly in the reception area?
My child felt embarrassed by the receptionists treatment of her. She was told to buy what she needed for her "dry skin" over the counter by the same member of staff. My child had been seen a doctor in March for infected eczema & told the receptionist about it but was told by the receptionist who said she was in charge that she couldn't check this in her records as it was a new system and they hadn't been trained properly yet.
I feel if an adult had been with my young adult she wouldn't have been treated so badly publicly.
And Eczema is a medical condition and not just dry skin so as a student she should be able to get her steroid cream on prescription!
Really disappointed by how this surgery treats young adults. Last time she needed antibiotics for her infected eczema she was told there were no appointments for two weeks, no duty DR and go to Urgent Care for antibiotics. Urgent care were not best pleased to hear about this.
"receptionist diagnosing my daughters condition!"
