"Endoscopy"

About: Grantham & District Hospital

(as the patient),

I had an endoscopy to check for further hiatus problems. On arrival the reception was very pleasant soon sorted who I was then directed to the waiting room only there for a few minutes when a really pleasant student came and took me to fill forms and take blood pressure did everything to put me at ease very cheerful then back to the waiting room was only there again for short time when a nurse came to take me for the procedure, this was explained very well before it was started so I had no worries and was able to stay relaxed when the procedure was over any questions I asked were answered so I could understand them after a rest I was told I could go

Dear Dunweldin,

Thank you very much for your kind comments about your visit to Grantham's Endoscopy department.

Staff are all very much aware that a visit to endoscopy is usually fraught with concern for any patient due to the nature of the procedures we carry out. As Matron it is reassuring to know that the staff are helping to allay patients fears and offer appropriate support to the patients that help them at this time.

I am also delighted with your feedback on the student nurse as we all like to know that the nurses of the future are just the kind of people we want in the job

Once again many thanks and I will ensure the staff at Grantham Endoscopy are aware of your feedback

Many thanks

Julie Scott
