"Outstanding Care and Best Practice on Seaford MAU"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital / Accident and emergency

When my husband was admitted for an emergency CT scan on 14 June 2018 he was given the most excellent care and attention on Seaford MAU, as was I. The scan showed he had a bilateral subdural haematoma. This was carefully explained to us in an appropriate and caring manner and arrangements quickly made for a transfer to Brighton Royal Sussex Hospital for surgery. From start to end we could not have asked for better care. Thank you so much to the Dr and team of MAU.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such kind and thoughtful feedback about the recent care and treatment provided to your husband on Seaford 1 Medical Assessment Unit (MAU); it is very much appreciated. First and foremost, we sincerely hope your husband has now had, or is shortly due to have, any further treatments required for his bilateral subdural haematoma, that he is in recovery and in good health and spirits. We also hope you have personally had all the support and guidance you need as part of his care pathway.

The Trust is committed to providing patients and their relatives with a high standard of care and treatment, and it is therefore reassuring to read that this was your experience; this is particularly important as you must have been very upset and concerned for your husband’s well-being when you received the results of his CT scan. We will share your feedback with the staff on Seaford 1 MAU, as they will be thrilled to know their standard of care was appreciated. We wish you and your husband all the very best in current and future health.
