I gave birth to my little girl on 21.06.18 at 33+5 Weeks. I cannot fault the midwifes! They went above an beyond & were my whole support throughout my stressful experience. I had one midwife take care of me most of the time & she is he most caring professional & helpful midwife. She took time from her break to sit and comfort me. She would explain everything the best she could and her reaction when our little girl was born spoke for itself.
Unfortunately I could not say say the same to the doctors.
I would be seen by different person a few times a day and each doctor has different opinion on my situation and no decision was made for a few days. This made me feel very uncomfortable emotional and angry, fortunately the midwives are very supportive and pushed for plan to put in place and finally I was to have a decision made to be induced.
Another area I would like to mention is that I was left after giving birth to a premature baby for two hours on my own. I completely understand it is normal practice to allow the mother time to recover and get that back together but after having a premature baby, being left alone and emotional I do not feel this was the right thing to do.
I was told I was left on my own and paperwork needed to be filled out I personally feel that patient care and emotional state is more important any paperwork that needs to be filled out!
Over all the experience was up and down. A massive thank you to the midwifes!!! The after-care in the premature baby unit has been amazing the ladies who work there were extremely hard and long hours and deserves a recommendation for their work.
I cannot fault this department and I feel that my motional state would not be where is about them thank you very very much!
