Having been sent to A& E by my GP in March, I was told I needed an MRI, which I duly received a month later. At this appointment, I was told I'd get a referral for an outpatient's appointment within the next few weeks. Nine weeks later, I tried to find out what was happening and, following a very protracted search for the correct contact, I have been told the waiting times for the outpatient clinic is 50 WEEKS! ! ! ! . What is the point of having an expensive procedure such as an MRI, for which you then have to wait 50 weeks to get the result? Fortunately, another service provided me with the result but asking patients to wait 50 weeks before they get a result is.....staggering. I am very unhappy with this service (or lack thereof) and would like some feedback about this waiting time.
