I was given an appointment today in the middle of the working day to get my results from a blood test in haematology. The results were all negative and I spoke to the consultant for no more than 30 seconds before being discharged. Good news, but could this not have been dealt with over the phone or by letter? I would have understood if there had been anything to discuss, but there was really no need for this appointment. I am thinking both of NHS costs and my own working day, which was disrupted as a result.
