"Appointments only available in office hours"

About: Adult mental health (Lambeth) South London And Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

In my opinion the service i have recieved is lousy.

I feel some staff are stressed out and take it out on me. I find the service is totally unsuitable for someone with a job, offering support and appointments only in office hours (work will give me time off but when its serveral times a week they get annoyed).

Also SLAM only offers one type of talking therapy,-psychodynamic. if they dont think its suitable for you, or it doesnt work for you, it seems the only option is drugs. What happened to IAPTS?

Dear person with a job!

I am sorry to hear that the service you have been offered does not fit in with your working hours. And also that the type of talking therapy you are receiving may not be working for you.

It is difficult to work out precisely which service you are referring to and it would be helpful if you could email me direct with more details. My email address is: su.glazier@slam.nhs.uk.

In the meantime, your posting will be forwarded to the Trust’s Head of Psychotherapy, but without more details of which service you are talking about, his response will be quite general.

Hoping to hear from you and best wishes,

Su
