"My cataract operations at the wonderful Spa Medica"

Over the last few years I had been experiencing a deterioration in the clarity of my vision, particularly in bright light and when driving at night. This became very noticeable this year and I felt that most of the time I was looking through dirty net curtains.

I stopped driving at night completely because I did not feel it was safe as on-coming lights were blinding me. I had been made aware that I had the beginnings of cataracts when I visited my optician last Autumn and he told me to come back when my eye sight was troubling me.

This was the case in April this year when I really felt I could not cope any longer. I had read all about the length of time people were having to wait to have cataracts operated upon and was not hopeful I would be seen before the end of 2018.

I am eternally thankful that my optician referred me to Spa Medica. He told me I would be contacted within a few days which turned out to be the case.

Not only that but I was given an appointment for the very same week.

At my initial visit I was very impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of every member of staff with whom I came into contact.

From the lovely girls on the desk to the nurses who dealt with the admin. and the kind and patient doctor who examined me and agreed to do both my cataracts I was treated with dignity, kindness and understanding.

Everything moved very quickly from then on; my first eye was operated on a week after the first visit. I was a little apprehensive but once again everybody put me at ease. The surgeon explained the process and the operation itself was painless and speedy. Two weeks later that eye was checked over, the operation proclaimed a success and the appointment for the second operation arranged for the following week. This was done as efficiently as the first and my final check-up last week showed I have 20/20 vision.

I cannot express how thrilled I am with the results of my operation.

Everything has a new clarity and colour and I have realised just how poor my vision has been over the past few years. Although the realisation that what I thought was my lovely clean house actually left a lot to be desired came as a bit of a shock!

I really cannot praise Spa Medica highly enough.

The treatment I received was second to none and I consider myself very fortunate.
