I had a hip replacement and unfortunately after going home the wound was not right and I did not feel too good. Turned out I had a haematoma.
The Wound Clinic Nurse was so reassuring and kind, I was very very nervous. The Wound Clinic Nurse explained what needed to be done and that she would first involve the Surgeon ortho /trauma/ and wounds who stepped in to look after me. I must add she is amazing, care care care and her expertise is exceptional. The Surgeon is also human, not stand offish but at your level she can explain in full and that does make a huge difference. Thank you!
Between them they assured me the wound needed redressing but was doing okay, a great relief. Together they make a great team, there is a huge understanding between them.
I went back today and again had the wound checked thoroughly and my bloods taken, Ms Hook was notified I was back and has arranged to meet me in the wound clinic next week so she can investigate whether further treatment is necessary.
The Wound Clinic Nurse is so dedicated to her patients, she kept us updated all through our time there, she is a fantastic Nurse and I am so glad we met her.
