"Waiting time for a hysteroscopy"

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) / Gynaecology

Well I wrote a previous comment about this subject. After I read online (NHS choices), that you have a maximum waiting time of 18 months : "The maximum waiting time for non-urgent consultant-led treatments is 18 weeks from the day your appointment is booked through the NHS e-Referral Service, or when the hospital or service receives your referral letter." (I copy past this). I called the secretary in the gynecology department, stating that the first appointment was booked on the 4th of May, my hysteroscopy will be on the 17 of September, so will be 20 weeks. The secretary stated that the 18 weeks was from the day of the appointment, well I still know how to read first of all. Then she said because I am a Fertility patient only two Fertility doctors were available , well having a fibroid doesn't make me a Fertility patient, I can choose to be or not to be a fertility patient, and remove the fibroid any other way. And because these doctors are going on holidays I don't have my hysteroscopy earlier. Well the Fertility patients will have to hold their life's because there are only 2 doctors? Because they are going on holiday ? Does a Hospital stopps and leave their patients to die , or on their on because the staff goes on holidays? It's not acceptable. Then by the end of the phone conversation, the secretary stated that the other doctors only have availability on December or next year. I have no words to describe this.
