I was taken into A&E by ambulance after a serious fall in the early hours of Sunday 17th June resulting in quite a severe head injury & bump on my head. I’ve never experience being taken to hospital in an ambulance in my 19 years of life however the paramedics were very calming and reassuring and assessed the situation immediately. They assured my safety and comfort whilst I was in a neck brace and kept me relaxed from the minute they attended. From what I can remember I was dressed in a comfortable hospital gown and placed in a quite bed whilst they assessed my head injury and was left for a few hours whilst they constantly checked my blood, blood pressure and my head (all the vitals). I was seen by a doctor who reassured everyone who was there to support me I’m fine to go home. The fact staff work tirelessly to attend to patients and offer the care of consultants and doctors within hours is amazing. I can’t thank the NHS West Yorkshire Ambulance Service, paramedics, staff at pinderfields, nurses and doctors for everything they did for me as I know how hard it is to attend every incident they receive and accommodate for everyone especially as my incident happened on a busy night for accidents. They do an amazing job everyday and don’t get appreciated enough! Thank you so much.
