"Excellent Emergency Care in A and E"

About: Royal United Hospital / Accident and emergency

My husband was admitted to the RUH via A and E early Saturday morning.

On arrival to A and E we were met with polite and Professional care.

The triage nurse was called immediately , she arrived promptly and made a quick and efficient assessment.

My husband was transferred into a bay straight away.

Within minutes he was monitored ,bloods taken etc.

Throughout we were informed of what was happening , reassured and supported.

He was transferred later to MAU later that morning and after Consultant review admitted as an inpatient.

Yesterday afternoon he was discharged home.

I cannot praise the RUH enough for the care they gave my husband.

However the same cannot be said of the Company that run the car parking.

As I had arrived with a sick person I parked in P4 near the A and E and as the barrier was not there I parked with haste and took my husband straight to A and E .

It was only on Sunday having spoken to another visitor I then read the small signs and managed to buy a ticket to cover the week.

I then attempted to contact the parking company and explain my dilemma. There appeared to be no way of speaking to someone only methods of downloading apps!

I was unable to speak to anyone today and have no success in contacting the Parking office based at the RUH

I have now contacted the patient Liaison officer who was extremely sympathetic and has passed my details onto the parking office at the RUH.

What a travesty that the exceptional care given at the RUH is let down by the organisation that runs the car parking.

Next time I will call an Ambulance !!!!!!At what cost to the taxpayer??
