"Waiting times"

About: Perth Royal Infirmary / Urology

(as the patient),

My catheter in my stomach fell out roughly ten months ago. I was seen in clinic last year at pri and it was agreed to put it back in with surgery. I am still waiting and not been offered one appointment as they say the consultant is off when I phone or there is no spaces. I have gave up asking now and phoning as I feel it gets me no where.

Update posted by Tilly09 (the patient)

The lack of even a response to this matter shows exactly what I mean. It feels like there is no care in urology to just totally ignore this problem. Disgraceful way to treat someone who has patiently waited for a simple overnight procedure. Not far off a year waiting tells me all I need to know that this is just going to continue being ignored.

Dear "Tilly09"

On behalf of the service I would like to apologise for your experience to date and appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback.

I would also like to apologise for the delay in responding to you.

To enable the services to improve the experience of our patients moving forward and to address your enquiry appropriately, it would be extremely helpful to obtain more specific details regarding your care. If you would be happy to do so, I would be grateful if you could contact the service via the Complaints and Feedback Team either by telephone on 0800 027 5507 or email to feedback.tayside@nhs.net.

Kind regards.

Elizabeth Henderson

Clinical Service Manager
