Our daughter was admitted for her safety as suicidal. Each week there was award round we attended with ward staff and the Consultant where a clear plan was made. Each week it was then immediately ignored by the ward. Culminating in her being informed that (despite assurances she would be kept safe on the ward as the most appropriate place as her family were away) they had given her bed away whilst she was on leave and she could not go back. They insist they were not discharging her but frankly if they have no bed I don't see how it can be anything but. The stress and harm this does to a vulnerable individual who they know is severely depressed, with really low self esteem can only be imagined. Suffice to say she is now at as much risk as when she was originally admitted. As carers we have been ignored and are the ones who are now having to keep her safe at great cost to our health. An appalling service.
"Shockingly bad- as much harm as benefit"
