I was diagnosed at Glenfield for cardiomyopathy in October last year. In April this year I had a pacemaker with defibrillator fitted. I was afraid but I knew it was for the best. Everyone was very caring, they explained everything to me. Even the person performing the precedure warned me that he would scrub very hard on the site to avoid any infections and that he would probably make it sore. He did but I didn’t get any infection??
I was sedated for the pacemaker implant , twice. It didn’t take effect until three hours afterwards so I heard all the people talking. Felt all the tugging. But I felt no pain.
Glenfield is a lovely caring hospital. The doctors I see are wonderful and the nurses are brilliant and the hospital looks clean thanks to the cleaners. I would highly recommend this hospital for any heart problems.
"Glenfield. Wouldn’t want to go to any other"
