I was told to get up and sit in a chair by a senior charge nurse and after explaining the reason I had been hospitalised was I had been unable to sit or stand for 48hrs and even with gas and air I screamed in pain to get into the ambulance. They assured me the best thing for back pain was to move. I assured him this would cause me extreme pain, I would scream as before. I was then man-handled into a chair at the bedside, and left in tears and great pain awaiting the Dr.
After my short examination which was concluded because the Dr did not have the equipment to test my reflexes I was told they were sorting out my pain medication which I had earlier been told would be administered on the ward. I never got and was then moved to another ward - M1. On leaving an auxiliary nurse whispered in my ear "You deserve an Oscar for that!".
Thankfully M1 put me into a bed were I could regain my calm and be cared for in the manner I would have expected initially from the nursing staff in charge on G4.
""You deserve an Oscar for that!""
