Came to A&E three times in the past 10days! Disappointed in how we are not informed of what the steps are being taken or what results they found. You need a better informed service! Was here yesterday and the doctor that saw us seemed so confused and lost most of the times I had to get my portly mother to walk from where she was to the children’s unit to weigh her as they didn’t have anything available. My mother was in sever pain but no one offered a wheelchair. Have her IV treatment and told us we had to come back to AECU init the next day for her 2nd dose of antibiotics, right now I am still waiting as they are not use what is going on as the notes were not completed properly and didn’t know why she was sent. It’s appalling that the doctor has to ask me to start from the bringing what happened what they prescribed, why she was at A&E!!!

I am sorry to hear about your concerns raised.

We are constantly reviewing all our processes so all feedback is welcomed .The adult Emergency Department are ordering sitting weighing scales for the less mobile patients. We have purchased several additional wheelchairs over the last few months.

When patients are sent to AECU the doctor will ask about the history of the patient that is attending , and it does not mean the doctors do not know what they are doing with the patient treatment and care plan. At times the AECU can be busy with patients and there may be a delay in being seen by a doctor. If the treatment plan was intravenous antibiotics your mother may have had to visit the AECU for the medication.
