"gynaecology assessment room"

About: Watford General Hospital / Gynaecology

I came in to see one of your out of hours doctors on Sunday night and I must say the care I received was amazing. With his help and a gentleman from gynaecology they organised me a scan for 9am Monday. The receptionist at the desk Monday morning was again lovely and very respectful and found me on the system straight away and sent me down to the gynaecology assessment room. However this is where it all went down hill! Once I got outside I was informed rather abruptly that this woman does not scan women with gynaecology problems and has told the doctors to stop sending people like me to them. She then claimed I never had an appointment because she couldn’t find me on the system. At this point the girl at ultrasound try to help me but we ended back much to this lady annoyance back at the gynaecology assessment room who when I asked so what happens now. At which point she made me feel as if i was lying about having an appointment and that I was even in any pain. Finally I did get to see a gynaecologist who again was lovely and very respectful but unfortunately he had to rearrange my scan for Wednesday “because I didn’t have appointment” So fast forward to Wednesday and I was sent to ultrasound the lady who scanned me was great and took time to explain everything to me as we went along. After this I had to have my second experience with gynaecology assessment room team they were rather loudly discussing me and the wooden door doesn’t stop sound traveling so after being put at ease by the lady who scanned me I was back on edge. I was taken into the next room by one particular nurse who just informed me I haven’t got any gynaecology problems and made me feel as if I was wasting everyone’s time! She didn’t even look at me! I have a history of endometriosis and which doesn’t show up on a scan. I also have a history of PCOS that I have had an operation for both in the past... granted lucky this time my scan did come back clean but more than often than not this is not the case.
