My partner has been in the Queen's Medical Centre, Endocrinology Ward (C51) for six days now. He is in severe pain.
He has spent three consecutive sleepless nights with severe pain. All night long he asked for help and none was given. None at all. He was told they would get a doctor but the doctor never came. The nurses I saw ignored him.
The ward has empty beds and it does not seem especially busy. There has been no medical relief, or provision for medication to treat acute episodes of pain, in spite of obvious need.
But the striking thing is the appalling lack of sympathy and the attitude of some of the nursing staff, indifferent to suffering. I don't know what to do about it.
