"I was witness to the awful patient treatment at..."

About: Seaforth Village Surgery

I attended the surgery with a patient who needed support, there were a few reason why he needed to attend and with this knowledge after a telephone consultaion he was advised to booked a double appointment.

Turning up on time we had to wait 15 mins for the GP to arrive and be called in. When we were called in the attitude of the GP was defensjve and time watching. Yes she was late and after 5 mins of the appointment she told us we had no more time i had to tell her it was a double appoitment.

After this we went on to try and discuss mental health issues these were completely ignored and she gave excuses and abruptly denied access to mental health services. Whilst trying to make a clear pathway for the patient she would not engage with clarifying the way forward for the patient.

As we were trying to discuss this another patient walked in to the room and we were told to leave after 10 mins of a 20 min appointment. This was the worst expeience of attending an appointment with a vulnerable patient I jave experienced. I feel it was unprofessional and care with no understanding or compassion and would not recommend this practice for mental health patients.
