"Told to hide while breastfeeding"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Maternity

(as a service user),

Had one criticism that we had curtains open while breast feeding as was told by a HCA that we are needing to close curtains as we are not allowed to feed with curtains open. They did this with a bad attitude and poor language. Other than this situation everything is fine

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback about our maternity service. Please accept our apologies for any distress that was caused as a result being advised to breastfeed with the curtains open, this is not something that we would normally expect. We want to support those women who chose to breastfeed in the way that they feel most comfortable. I am also sorry that you encountered poor language and a bad attitude from one of our members of staff. We pride ourselves on being caring and compassionate so this behaviour is something that we would not normally expect. Please contact me directly on the email address below so that I can look into this further on your behalf

Once again thank you for your comments
