"Great Service"

I was taken to A&E by ambulance on the 12th of June at about 4pm and there were very many people waiting to be seen. I prepared myself for a long wait but I was found a cubicle within 10 minutes, after another 10 minutes I had a consultation with a doctor. I was then put onto a ECG machine, had bloods taken, bp taken, blood sugars done and temperature taken and a Xray in the course of the next 45 minutes.

All checks done again on my return to the cubicle and another chat with the doctor who decided on a course of treatment to start immediately. I was then moved out of the ambulance area to a majors cubicle, ob's were continued every hour and I was seen by another doctor who decided that another Xray should be done at 10pm

Staff were on the full stretch all the time but all seemed to be in good spirits in spite of a couple of difficult people. The porter came to wheel me to Xray at 10pm, I could not believe the number of people waiting in corridors, rooms and in every corner, it was like a war zone.

I had to wait a long time in Xray as they too were full but again staff, including porters had everything under control. On returning to my cubicle ob's were done again and the results of my Xray was reviewed, the doctor decided at 2 30am that I could go home.

I got dressed and got my things together and was just about to leave when 2 patient

transport staff turned up to take me home. this was arranged by staff unbeknown to me.
