"Excellent overall experience"

About: Priory Hospital

I was recently treated for an umbilical hernia at the hospital as a daycase patient and had an excellent overall experience, from the initial consultation right through to discharge. The hospital creates an immediate impression of being very clean and safe, with good, up-to-date facilities. The pre-operative assessment I attended was very thorough and additional tests were ordered where needed. All the staff that I saw on the morning of the procedure - consultant, anaesthetist, nursing staff, receptionists and administrative staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, and I felt everyone worked very well together as a team. At no point did I feel that I wasn't in good hands or at any risk,

There was excellent catering on the day of the operation (a Saturday), with an appetising menu being offered by a friendly catering assistant. You could tell that a lot of attention had been given to what people will really want to eat after an operation. There was a very good level of care and attention right from the admission stage, with staff being very responsive when called and sympathetic and reassuring when asked questions. After returning to the room following the operation, there was no pressure or hurry to do things quickly - when eventually being discharged, staff paid good attention key information, were happy to answer any questions, and provided a useful discharge pack with dressings and clear advice about what to do if here were any concerns. I feel that the hospital is a very safe, well run and well led environment. They definitely pay a lot of attention to detail here, with nothing being forgotten about or swept under the carpet - even gave me a spare pair of anti-embolism socks!

I would absolutely recommend this hospital - many thanks to everyone for making the experience so positive. Brilliant is all I can say.
