"I was my daughters birthing partner"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / Maternity care

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

When my grandchild was born in August 2017 he had to stay in SCBU for 10 days. My daughter was very fortunate and had a side room for the duration of the stay. The care that was given to both my daughter and grandchild was exceptional. The midwives were amazing!! Nothing was too much trouble. I was my daughters birthing partner and was made to feel welcome at all times. ( And I was there a lot!!)

The are a credit to the NHS.

To think that there had been talk of the maternity unit being closed!! This would be scandalous. The maternity unit is vital to our community.

Dear GrannyClaire

Congratulations on your grandchild I hope you and your family are looking forward to the first birthday celebrations in a couple of months. I am so glad you felt both your daughter and grandchild received exceptional care, this is exactly what the team work hard to achieve and I will share your comments with them. It's very thoughtful of you to take time to provide this feedback when I'm sure life is busy with a new family member, the team will very much appreciate it.

I wish you and your family all the very best for the future

Jayne
