it appears that reception takes on the role of triage, rather than a nurse practiser. Which means the first level of appointment is with a nurse, who then agrees that you. Should really be seeing a doctor, who can make the necessary referral and or diagnosis. This over years means that I will invariably go direct the walk-in
Centre in Colchester as my first point of contact. The practice is full of bureaucratic fail safes. For example I have glaucoma, I have a continuing need for medication, prescribed by a consultant. The practice will query me for the continuing need for this medication, asking if it’s really necessary. I state that this need has been identified by a consultation, I can’t really comment any further. Process driven environment.
"Inconsistent levels of service."
