"prostatectomy operation on 13-6-2018"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital / Urology

I arrived at hospital and was booked in and taken straight away to be processed for my operation, after which the surgeon and the anesthetist came to see me and go through the procedure i was about to under go and sign relevant documentation , i was then taken for my operation, considering i arrived at the hospital at 07:00 and was in the operating theater

at 08:30 i would say that was pretty damn quick.

At no point did i not understand what was happening or what was about to happen.

After my operation was completed i was in recovery where i was told i would be going to ward 15 and was shortly collected by a nurse from that ward and taken to ward 15 where every aspect of my recovery was catered for, which made me feel safe and secure, which is the only way i can describe it .

After being cleared by the surgeon and relevant checks carried out i was discharged with all necessary medication and follow up appointments .

All in all my experience at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital was one of absolute professionalism and 100% dedication to all of there patients for which i cannot thank ALL the staff that were involved in my stay enough .

Thanks a Million times over

Dear Anonymous

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us as it is always helpful to receive feedback directly from patients, and the staff do like to hear when things have gone well and their care is well received.

It is good to hear you were taken to theatre so swiftly after being admitted and you felt fully informed and cared for while there and in recovery.

We are also pleased to hear that your transition from recovery to ward 15 went smoothly and you felt safe and secure in their care.

We hope you are now well on the road to recovery and wish you well.

Your kind comments will be sent to the areas you have mentioned as I know they will appreciate your feedback

Regards

Patient Engagement Team
