"Great surgery trying their best in very..."

My family and I needed vaccinations and had the pleasure of seeing Blackwater’s fantastic prescribing nurse.

The entire experience was excellent from the friendly receptionist who helped book the appointment at the surgery and book us in when we arrived to the consultation. This was not on my caring and hotly professsional but catered for the needs of my family , 2 of which are needle phobic and the other child who was extremely anxious. Her consultation was a master class which even taught a GP of 20 years experience something new!

She put all my family at ease and also went the extra mile when my daughter was arriving late from a school trip and managed to fit her in.

I know the GP’s at the surgery who are doing an excellent job in extremely challenging times for the NHS but particularly GP’s and nurses in primary care. The surgery is short of both GP’s and nurses and this obviously has knock on effects to what level of a safe service they can provide. This is made worse by a rapidly increasing population and one in which Maldon has one of the highest elderly populations in the country who are living longer due to medical care but have more long term conditions so need to see their GP’s and nurses more often.

My surgery and those around the country are all in the same situation and I know the local MP is trying his best but at the heart of this the government and Authorities in charge of budgets such as NHS England should be held account for the problems that I can see frustrated patients have written on the website.

Like my surgery for every one patient who is unhappy you’ll find a less vocal 50 who verbally thank us and write in personal compliments.
