"Could not fault it."

About: Peterborough City Hospital

I came to A&E this morning. As a result of an accidental trip up I broke my denture and a crown. I was sure there was a particle of tooth still lodged in my gum. I was very quickly sent up to the maxillo facial department where I was examined then xrayed. This proved that I was right, there was something there and it was exuding pus.

The dental team reassured me and explained exactly what they planned to do. This involved several injections of anaesthetic into my lip. I won’t say it didn’t hurt at all, but I’ve definitely had worse.

The operation was quickly over and a whole crown was removed. Not small parts as I expected.a stitch was put in and it was job done. They give me a written instruction leaflet on how to look after the operation site, and a prescription for antibiotics. They even sent the prescription down to the pharmacy so we wouldn’t have to wait so long afterwards.
